Lay Eucharist Ministry

Regular Meetings:
Training available as needed, no meetings.

There are two different ways to serve as a Lay Eucharistic Minister (LEM).
The first is on Sunday morning at one of the services. The Eucharistic Minister stands at the altar during the prayers and then gives the cup to people at the communion rail. LEMS are scheduled once a month, approximately. Each LEM is trained by the priest for this service and licensed by the Bishop.
The second ministry for LEMs is to take communion, after church on Sunday, to the homebound and those who are not able to come to church. As parishioners get older and no longer can come to church we want them to know they loved and fed by God. A LEM will go to a home once a month for a visit and to give communion. There is additional training necessary for this ministry with the priest and then through the Diocese.

We are actively recruiting new Lay Eucharistic Ministers of both types. If you are interested please contact The Rev Wendy Watson at the church office, 530-662-7153.
